The Classic HERMANN Bear with inserted snout
Design Explanation
The "Bear with inserted snout" is a type of model developed by Max Hermannin the 1920s. For this model, the snout consists of a shorter-pile plushthan the bear itself. It is cut separately and sewn onto the bear's headpart. With this model variant, Max Hermann's Teddy Bears became known andfamous. Like hardly any other bear design, the "Bear with the inserted snout"is linked to the name HERMANN and has written history. Still today this designis the preferred Teddy Bear model in our company.
Kid Mohair
Little material science
The hair of the Angora goat is called mohair. Depending on the age of thegoat and thus the diameter of the goat hair, the mohair fiber is dividedinto "kid", "younger goat" and "adult". The younger the animal, the finerthe hair. The first shearing of a goat is called "Kid Mohair". The hair isparticularly fine and can therefore be curled particularly well. Since thisfirst shearing can only happen once in the life of an Angora goat, the kidmohair fiber is not only particularly valuable and expensive because of itsfineness, but also because of its comparatively low availability. Curly mohairplush made from kid mohair was developed by plush weavers in the 1990's.Today, this quality is only rarely offered by the weaving mills, since thekid mohair wool on which it is based is hardly available anymore and theprice of the fiber on the stock market has multiplied. The longer the pilehair is, the more valuable the mohair fur is.
Made in Germany - Hergestellt in Deutschland
Mohair is made from one of nature`s finest  sources for natural fiber, the Angora goat. This special fur is very long and naturally wavy. When sheared(this usually occurs twice a year) it is called mohair. The term "mohair"is derived from the Arabian word "Muhayar" which literally means "the fabricof goat hair". Despite the name similarity there is no relation to the Angorarabbit.
The collection of this noble hair does not require any animals to beharmed!
Angora goats are a delicate animal and are very sensitive to temperaturechange. This requires a dependable mild climate. Summers not so hot thatthe meadows dry out and winters not too cold. In the entire world there areonly three regions that consistently meet these ideal conditions: Texas,USA, South Africa and Turkey.
The fur of the Angora go at is naturally white, curly and shiny. Itsfibers have a remarkable strength when made into a pile fabric. Thesecharacteristics together with the noble appearance, silky feel and sheenmake mohair one of the finest  fibers offered by nature.
